Adriana Gomes Guimarães, 37 years old, has an International Relations degree and a post graduation in Social Projects Management. Presently working as an advisor for CUT Brazil's International Relations Secretariat, she has been coordinating the Climate Change project from IDECRI/Citizens Global Platform - Brasil for over three years. Before that, she has worked for the International Relations Secretariat of the São Paulo and Osasco municipalities, as Science and Society advisor at the British Council and for the World Social Forum International Secretariat.

2nd Trade Union Assembly on Labor and Environment - How far have we walked?

The 2nd Trade Union Assembly on Labor and Environment has ended today after three days of hard work involving over 400 hundred brothers and sisters from 66 countries in all 5 continents.
 
It was the result of a long process that brought together in Rio de Janeiro from June 11th – 13th many different unions, labor organizations and civil society movements under the coordination of Sustainlabour Foundation and ITUC (International Trade Union Confederation) to try and develop a common ground from where to strengthen the labor movement position on themes dealt by the U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development, as well as to renew trade union commitments on environmental issues.
